Corpus vs Hevy
Short answer: Hevy is a polished, social workout log with a large community. Corpus logs your training too, but adds nutrition, sleep and recovery in the same app, then runs statistics on your own data to show which habits actually move your lifts. Pick Hevy for a pure lifting log with friends; pick Corpus if you want to know why some weeks go better than others.
| Feature | Corpus | Hevy |
|---|---|---|
| Workout logging | Sets, reps, weight and RPE, with RIR per set in Advanced mode, machine settings remembered per exercise and multi-pin machines logged pin by pin | Sets, reps, weight and RPE, with routines, supersets and progress charts |
| Training load | Session load (effort × minutes, the Foster method), estimated 1RM, volume and strength trends per exercise | Volume, personal records and muscle distribution per workout |
| Food and macros | Barcode scanning, macros per meal and per day, supplements, caffeine and water | Not part of the app; Hevy focuses on training |
| Micronutrients | 21 minerals and vitamins (each marked measured or estimated), fatty acids down to EPA and DHA, and every essential amino acid | Not tracked |
| Sleep and recovery | Sleep stages, overnight HRV, resting heart rate and a daily readiness score, synced from your wearable or logged by hand | Not tracked in the app |
| Insights | Tests how your own sleep, food and habits relate to your training and recovery, with corrections for multiple comparisons | Workout statistics: volume, personal records, muscle distribution, monthly reports |
| Social | Friends, shared templates, workout invites and an opt-in leaderboard (Wilks 2020) | Large community with a feed, followers and leaderboards |
| Connections | Wearables, Withings smart scales, Strava | Apple Health, Health Connect, Strava |

- You want a large library of ready-made routines to pick from.
Choose Corpus if…
- You want training, food, sleep and recovery in one place instead of three apps.
- You care about effort per set (RIR) and comparing like with like, down to the machine settings.
- You want to see what your sleep, protein or caffeine actually do to your training, based on your own data.
